SAN FRANCISCO SYMPHONY and THE CAROLINA OPRY Voted 1 and 2
The Carolina Opry and Myrtle Beach among NTA's “Distinguished Dozen”
The National Tour Association (NTA) has voted the San Francisco Symphony and The Carolina Opry the number 1 and 2 Favorite Theater/Show Venue in the country in their annual list of the “Distinguished Dozen”. The Carolina Opry is the only South Carolina attraction recognized by the list.
When asked about receiving the Silver Award, Carolina Opry founder Calvin
Gilmore commented, "This is huge when you consider all the great venues
out there - Carnegie Hall in New York, Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, and
all venues and shows in Las Vegas!" Gilmore went on to say, "It is also
an honor to be associated with the rest of the ‘Distinguished Dozen’ such
as New York City and The Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C.”
Myrtle Beach was also among the “Distinguished Dozen”, being voted the Silver Winner
of “Favorite Destination for Sun and Sand,” right behind the Caribbean.
